Exploring Creation - Art Class Ages 5-8

$250.00

In this 7-week Montessori-style art class, children will explore the wonder of God’s creation through hands-on projects inspired by the seven days of the Biblical creation story. Each week focuses on one day of creation, inviting young artists to connect scripture, natural materials, and creative expression.

We will meet weekly on Fridays at 10 AM beginning on September 11th.

Class Dates-9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30

There will be no class on October 9th.

What your child will experience:

  • A scripture-based introduction each week that gently retells the creation account and encourages curiosity and reflection.

  • Hands-on art projects that correspond to the day’s theme (light and darkness; sky and seas; land and plants; sun, moon, and stars; birds and sea life; animals and humans; rest and reflection).

  • Montessori-inspired materials and methods that promote independence, sensory exploration, and self-directed learning.

  • Use of natural elements—leaves, twigs, seeds, stones, shells, and found objects—combined with safe art supplies to make tactile, meaningful artworks.

  • Open-ended prompts that encourage imaginative play, problem-solving, and individual expression rather than strict copying of samples.

  • Opportunities to develop fine motor skills, color and shape recognition, sequencing, and storytelling through art.

  • Small-group, age-appropriate instruction with gentle guidance to foster confidence, cooperation, and respect for creation.

  • A calming rhythm each session, including prayer or a short moment of gratitude, a creation-themed art activity, and time to share and celebrate each child’s work.

    * Drop-in options available for $35 per class
